Over the course of Marie’s 20+ year career she has served in schools, child-protection and foster care, faith-based missions, parent education, and supporting grief and end-of-life goals for pediatric and adult hospice patients and families, both in the US and internationally. She is conversational in Spanish.
 
Marie focuses her time in working with children under 11 years, families, and adult individuals. She believes in the transformative power of a good, strong relationship, including with one’s self. Her therapeutic style has been described as compassionate and affirming. Her methods, guided by evidence-based therapies, clinical experience, and client wisdom, will seek to help you clarify goals for yourself and enhance your understanding of our inter-connectedness in ways that support your ability to move forward in a meaningful way. She believes in the importance of helping clients to develop tools to take their healing into their own hands with a focus on mental, physical and spiritual wellness.
 
Areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, grief, parenting (including working with foster, adoptive, and biological parents), relationships, life transitions, and spirituality. She has a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy and Child-Parent Relational Therapy (CRPT), and implements a number of other modalities including) Narrative Therapy, trauma responsive therapies, Mindfulness, and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
