Samantha is a licensed professional clinical counselor, working towards her Registered Play Therapy credentials. She has been working in the mental health field since 2018 in settings such as outpatient and autism, preschool based day treatment programs. She can be described as a compassionate, patient, and insightful therapist. She enjoys working with children and their families with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, trauma, depression, anger, life transitions, parenting concerns, and other emotional and behavioral difficulties. Samantha incorporates a variety of approaches in her work with patients to best meet their needs, such as play therapy techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness strategies.
Samantha strives to create a welcoming and safe space for clients and to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship in which they can process their thoughts and emotions. She became a therapist to help others feel empowered, experience personal growth, and to work through life transitions and challenges. She typically involves parents throughout the therapeutic process as she believes they can truly provide insight about their child and help determine the effectiveness of interventions. Samantha hopes to guide and support parents through the courageous journey of parenthood as she understands the joys and struggles it can bring as a parent herself.
Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoys reading, bowling, going on walks, yoga, and re-watching Harry Potter movies.
